Were it not for my current zerg with my tanking Death Knight in World of Warcraft, I’d almost certainly be playing this instead. Indeed, I’m almost a little bit sad that I won’t be diving in – but there’s only so many hours in a day, unfortunately.
It’s always nice to see a decent quality free-to-play MMO, and Runes of Magic certainly fits the bill. From what little I played of it in the open beta, it has an impressive list of features and doesn’t appear to suffer from the typical levelling grind that a lot of Korean games have. In fact, Runes is originally a German game, and it plays with all the polish and smoothness you’d expect. There’s an awful lot to sink your teeth into with comprehensive crafting and player housing to go alongside the standard loot hunt, so if you’re on the lookout for a game you don’t need to pay for but can still enjoy bashing some monsters with friends, I’d say you don’t need to look any further.
